Who are Strength & Cover?

We are a coverband from Örebro, Sweden, consisting of singer Mathilda Wahl and musician & amateur audio engineer Jakob Torstadius. We started playing together the summer of 2011, when we didn't really know what we were getting ourselves into. Luckily, our little "project" evolved into something bigger, and we are now recording new songs regularly in Jakob's home studio.

The Story

Mathilda came up to me a regular school day (note that we barely knew each other at this time) and said, "You know what I dreamed last night?"

I didn't, and she told me she had been dreaming about her sitting somewhere and singing with me and another girl. We decided to make the dream come true.
Our "career" started when we, along with another girl, got a summer job, which was to visit nearly all the elderly homes i Örebro and sing some songs. It was a good experience, but nothing we'll ever really want to do again.
We decided to continue playing together, mostly for fun, but also with some seriousy to it. And so far we have actually got a bunch of gigs, and earn some money. Mission:Success!

The name is not just something I came up with randomly. I searched for the meaning behind our names, and found out that Mathilda means "strength in battle" and that Jakob means "heel grabber" and "traitor". Nice! Luckily, I found yet another meaning of my name; "May God protect". I looked up synonyms of the names, and came up with the name "Strength& Cover".
